Penn College women's volleyball team ended a four-match losing streak with a 3-0 victory over Clarks Summit on Friday, September 29, at Bardo Gym. This win is the team's fourth of the season and marks their most successful season since 2016 when they achieved eight wins. The Wildcats now hold a record of 4-8 as they prepare for an upcoming seven-game road trip. Meanwhile, Clarks Summit's record falls to 1-15.
Cheyenne Stein played a pivotal role in the match by posting a double-double with 20 assists and 12 digs. She also contributed eight service aces, three of which came in the first five points, setting an early lead for Penn College. Lauren Hergert led the team with nine kills and four blocks, closely followed by Marianna Dariychuk who added eight kills.
The Wildcats delivered an efficient performance with 15 aces and four blocks while holding Clarks Summit to a sub-zero hitting percentage. They achieved a hitting efficiency of 33.8% during the match.
Penn College will begin their road trip with a game against Penn State Hazleton on Monday, October 2.
