Penn College's women's soccer team concluded a three-game road trip with a decisive 6-1 victory over Alfred State. The match, held in Alfred, N.Y., featured an impressive performance from Kaelynn Sheetz, who scored a hat-trick for the Wildcats. With this win, the Wildcats maintain an unbeaten record of 3-0-3 and prepare for an upcoming four-game homestand. Meanwhile, Alfred State falls to a season record of 1-3-1.
Sheetz is now just one goal away from tying the program's all-time scoring record. Her goals came at the 15th, 30th, and 50th minutes of the game. Brooke Klinger added another goal in the 40th minute, while BillieGean Hennessy contributed two more in the 55th and 86th minutes.
Assists were credited to Sara Darlington, Piper Minier, and Teagan Willey, each providing two assists during the match.
In terms of statistics, Penn College registered a total of 12 shots compared to Alfred State's seven and earned six corner kicks. Nicole Lichtinger made three saves during the match to help secure the victory.
The Wildcats will next play at UPMC Field on Sunday, Sept. 17 against Marymount at 1 p.m.
