Penn College's men's cross-country team emerged victorious at the United East Conference Championship in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The team scored 53 points, leading them to victory for the first time since the NCAA era began in 2014 and their first overall win since 2012.
Mitchell Campbell led the men's team with a third-place individual finish. He completed the 8K course in 28:44. His teammates, Matthew Woolcock and Alec Rees, finished sixth and seventh respectively, earning them United East first-team honors alongside Campbell. Holden Furey and Jacob Parker received UE third-team nods for their performances.
The women's team was led by Elaina Brady, who finished in 14th place with a time of 29:22 over a 6K course. Brady earned UE second-team honors while Skyelar Splain secured a UE third-team position by finishing 19th.
In the men's competition, Lancaster Bible College followed closely behind Penn College with 54 points. St. Mary's (Md.) came third with 77 points in a field of twelve teams. Mitchell Gray from Lancaster Bible College finished first among the male runners with a time of 27:51.
For the women’s race, St. Mary's (Md.) took first place among thirteen teams with 60 points, followed by Lancaster Bible College and Cairn University. Dana Keller from Lancaster Bible College was the top female runner, completing her race in 24:36.
Penn College will next compete at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships on November 11 at Lock Haven University's West Branch Cross-Country Course.
