University of Pennsylvania prepares for final regular season cross country meet

The University of Pennsylvania cross country teams are preparing for their final regular season event at the Haverford Invitational on Thursday evening. This competition serves as a last opportunity to fine-tune performances before the postseason.

The event, scheduled to take place at Haverford Campus in Haverford, Pennsylvania, will feature a women's race covering three miles starting at 4:15 p.m., followed by a men's four-mile race at 5:00 p.m.

Representing the Quakers in the women's category are Arielle Breuninger, Lara Cota, Trinity Eason, Sarah Fischer, Chloe Hassman, Camille Jordan, Anastasia Russell, and Lindsay Yakaboski. The men's team includes Titus Bretzke, Holden Emery, Denis Gallagher, Brian Gent, Kyle Miller, Nicolas Pizarro, and Sebastian Pizarro.

Recently, both teams participated in the XC23 Invitational hosted by UVA at Panorama Farms. The women secured 16th place with 386 points while the men finished 17th with 388 points. Dylan Throop led the men's team with a seventh-place finish on an 8K course time of 23:20.1. On the women's side, Olivia Morganti achieved a 22nd place finish on the 6K course with a time of 20:28.1.

After competing at Haverford on Thursday, the Quakers will head to Boston for the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Saturday. The women's event is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by the men's event at noon.
