The University of Pennsylvania's cross country teams participated in the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday. Both the men's and women's teams finished in fifth place. The women's team scored 99 points, while the men's team accumulated 108 points.
The Quakers achieved three first-team All-Ivy honors during the competition. Maeve Stiles led the women's team by finishing fourth on the 6K course with a time of 20:47.6, earning her second first-team accolade. Olivia Morganti followed closely behind, securing sixth place with a time of 20:53.3 and also receiving first-team recognition.
On the men's side, Dylan Throop was a standout performer. He led for nearly the first 4K of his race and regained the lead after 6K but was narrowly beaten to finish second on the 8K course with a time of 23:55.2, earning him first-team honors.
In addition to these performances, Penn had three athletes make second-team appearances. Lily Murphy finished 11th for the women with a time of 21:18.2, while Luke Johnson (24:28.9) and Sahil Dodda (24:29.5) placed 12th and 13th respectively for the men.
Looking ahead, the Quakers will prepare for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships at Lehigh University in two weeks' time on November 10th, where they have already competed twice this season.
