Penn College secured a decisive victory over Keystone College with a 23-9 win in the United East men's lacrosse game held on Saturday. This victory improved the Wildcats' record to 4-1 in the United East conference and 9-8 overall, while Keystone fell to 3-2 in the conference and 6-9 overall.
The win ensured Penn College the No. 2 seed for the upcoming United East playoffs. They will face Keystone again in Tuesday's semifinals, though the time is yet to be announced.
During the game, Penn College established an early lead of 8-3 by the end of the first quarter and expanded it to a 13-5 advantage at halftime. The Wildcats continued their dominance by outscoring Keystone 10-4 in the second half.
Key performances included Aidan McFalls leading all scorers with six goals. Harrison Schlachta and Jake Small each contributed four goals, while Gage McClune and AJ Dotson added two apiece. Dotson also provided seven assists, Small had four assists, and both McFalls, Devin Page, and Brendan Kuzma contributed two assists each.
Joey Rebbilas won six of eight faceoffs and Michael Stank won five of fourteen. The defense caused fifteen turnovers, contributing to thirteen failed clear attempts from Keystone. Alex Hammond secured the win as goalkeeper with five saves.
