Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on June 5.

The Lock Haven University wrestling team's Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion and national qualifier at 125 pounds added a prestigious feather to his cap today (June 5) at the 2022 United World Wrestling (UWW) U23 United States National Championships and World Team Trials.

Competing in the 57-kilogram division, Noto bested the field and rolled to a 7-1 overall record to take a little extra hardware back to Mat-Town U.S.A.

In the opening bout of a best of three championship matchup against two-time NCAA qualifier Trevor Mastrogiovanni of Oklahoma State, Noto's comeback attempt fell just short in a tight 7-6 decision. The Bald Eagle, however, bounced back decisively in the second bout securing a 4-0 win, before bringing home the crown with an impressive 4-2 victory.
