Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on June 6.

A total of 16 Bald Eagles will be in action this summer in various notable leagues across the United States.

The Lock Haven University baseball team and head coach Heath "Smoke" Stover have sent a total of 17 players to compete in a number of prestigious summer leagues from Florida to Colorado.

The 2023 season will mark the sixth for LHU with Stover at the helm, and in preparation the Bald Eagles will be very busy over the summer ahead of their return to campus in August.

Notably, pitcher David Keller (Oreland, Pa/Christopher Dock Mennonite) makes the jump to the MLB Draft League and will ply his trade with the Frederick Keys. Keller paced the Bald Eagles staff in 2022 in strikeouts with 70 and in wins with four.

The Bald Eagles send five student-athletes to compete in the All-American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) this summer, including a trio to the Mainline franchise. Jared Colledge (Everett, Pa./Everett Area), Camden Moors (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont) and Garrett Starr (Dubois, Pa./Dubois) will each claim a spot with Mainline, while Rylan Bailey (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) lands with the Birmingham Braves and Ryan Terrizzi (State College, Pa./State College) with Altoona.

In the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), LHU sends Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) to the Olean Oilers and Kevin Worek (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington) to the Cortland Crush.

Another Bald Eagle duo heads to the Coastal Plain League (CPL) as Gavin Troutman (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) notched a spot with the Holly Spring Salamanders and Garrett Nepert (Preston, Md./Colonel Richardson (Chesapeake County CC)) landed with the Wilson Tobs.

The remaining seven student-athletes are scattered as individuals across a number of notable leagues and teams: Brendan Jordan (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy (Bucks County CC)) – Rocky Mountain Collegiate Baseball League, Zach Kaatz (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) – Piedmont League, Lukas Schutz (Metamoras, Pa./Delaware Valley) – Hudson Valley Renegades, Bryce Ratliff (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) – Blue Mountain League, Aedan Walter (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) – Florida Gulf Coast Collegiate League, Matt Lingenfelter (State College, Pa./State College) – Centre County Baseball League and Justin Lichtenwalner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) - Central York County Baseball League.
