Lock Haven University Dance Consort to host Spring Showcase

Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania issued the following announcement on Apr. 19.

The Lock Haven University Dance Consort will hold three performances of its Spring Showcase at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29 and at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 in the John Sloan Fine Arts Center Auditorium on campus.

Some of the dance genres that will be performed include ballet/lyrical, jazz. hip-hop, pops and waves and theatrical modern.

Friday evening's performance is available to view through livestream.

Student performers include Morgan Houser, Delayne Breslin, Courtney Brittan, Jennica Deavor, Kiersten Redding, Kaylee Allen, Lindsey Badeau, Megan Walerysiak, Megan Packer, Maggie Bressler, Elizabeth (Yan) Brown, Marcella Goodfellow, Gabrielle Weyrich, Samantha Fike and Myra Fravel.

The Dance Consort will be accepting donations of unopened boxes of pads, tampons and panty liners to benefit the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Council of Social Studies (LHUPCSS) club's Period Poverty program. There also will be a 50/50 drawing in which half of the money will go to the winner and half will benefit the Dance Consort. Anyone who brings a donation for LHUPCSS will receive one free 50/50 ticket.

Tickets to the performances are free and open to the public and can be reserved one week prior to the shows. Tickets are available at the Lock Haven University box office by emailing boxoffice@lockhaven.edu. Please leave your first and last name, date of the show, time of the show, number of tickets requested and preferred location of seats in the message.

The Dance Consort is a student-run dance club in which student choreographers create their own pieces and others join them to help their ideas come to life. Practices are held throughout the semester.
