Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.

The Lock Haven University tennis team (0-1) fell to host Susquehanna University (3-2) in a thrilling, 5-4, dual.

Today's match marked Lock Haven's first dual of the 2021-22 season.

LHU won three of six singles matches.

At No. 2 singles Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) came away with the 2-0 win (6-1, 6-4). Delani Wolever (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) stole a 2-1 (6-3, 3-6, 1-0) thriller at No. 3 singles and Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) grabbed the No. 4 singles win (6-3, 6-3).

The No. 2 doubles duo of Wolever and McLean won, 8-5.

Next up for LHU is the 2021 PSAC Individual Championships as Lock Haven heads to Bloomsburg University from October 2-4, in what should be an exciting opportunity for the Bald Eagles.
