Curtin Middle School issued the following announcement on Aug.24.
Dear Community,
Welcome to the start of the 2021-2022 school year!
We’re excited to welcome students back to the classroom for full-time, in-person learning as we open a new year as close to normal as possible.
Our board of directors approved our Health and Safety Plan this summer to help guide us and our families as we continue to move forward. That plan is outlined on page nine of this newsletter (and can be reviewed in its entirety under the COVID-19 section of our website). I’m hopeful we can sustain our “normal start” and hold to the current status of our plan as the year gets further under way, but, as you know, concerns of variants could very well cause us to have to adapt how we operate for the safety of all our students, faculty and staff.
We’ve come off of an incredibly challenging year. I can’t thank our district families enough for their support, cooperation and patience as we worked to navigate our way through the health crisis last year. With that, I ask for the same understanding this year should the need arise for us to have to quickly shift operations.
As usual, it’s been a very busy summer for us here as we worked to prepare for another year. I commend our entire team, from administrators to our maintenance crew, for their work and diligence to ensure that we are ready to go on Aug. 30.
I believe we have another successful year ahead of us. I hope you take the time to review some of our accomplishments in this newsletter that we plan to build upon in 2021-2022.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy S. Bowers
Superintendent
