Cost of college went up for all students at Lock Haven University

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Lock Haven University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $10,878 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $302 more than the $10,576 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 90.3 percent more than residents this year, or $20,702. Their price tag grew 3.2 percent from $20,056 in 2017-18.

About 96 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. And about 4 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 94 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 518 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.1 million and 668 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,418), 2,308 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13.9 million, and 2,671 students took out $17.6 million in federal student loans.
