WILLIAMSPORT AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT: Item Pick-Up/Drop-Off Dates Scheduled

Williamsport Area School District issued the following announcement on May 28.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MAY 28, 2020) — Schools across the Williamsport Area School District will use the weeks of June 1 and June 8 for families to pick up personal items and drop off district-owned property, specifically technology devices used for distance learning. 

Elementary Schools (K-6)

With the exception of Stevens Primary, all elementary schools will operate on a staggered pickup/drop-off system. It will be handled alphabetically by last name during two time slots, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to the following schedule:

  • Monday, June 1:  A-E
  • Tuesday, June 2:  F-L
  • Wednesday, June 3:  M-R
  • Thursday, June 4:  S-Z
  • Friday, June 5:  Open to anyone who may not have been able to attend a previous day. 
For Stevens Primary families, pickup and drop-off will be handled by grade level:

  • Monday, June 1: Kindergarten
  • Tuesday, June 2:  1st Grade
  • Wednesday, June 3:  2nd Grade
  • Thursday, June 4:  3rd Grade
  • Friday, June 5:  Open to anyone who may not have been able to attend a previous day. 
In addition to Chromebooks and iPads, items to return to the elementary buildings may also include:

  • Library books
  • Textbooks
  • Any books/items from classrooms (i.e. calculators, etc.)
  • Instruments (grades 4-6)
All district-provided devices must be returned with charging cord, fully charged and turned on for inspection. 

Any items owned by the district and not returned will be billed to the parent or guardian. 

Items to pick up may include:

  • Individual student items left in desks and/or lockers
  • Yearbooks (if pre-ordered)
  • End-of-year school awards (if not mailed previously)
  • Art portfolios/projects
  • Medications not yet retrieved 
For more specific instructions pertaining to traffic patterns and processes during the drop-off/pick-up period, please contact the school directly, or refer to the communication sent home by building principals.

Williamsport Area Middle School (Grades 7-8)

Williamsport Area Middle School will hold its pickup and drop-off days on Wednesday, June 3, and Friday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. 

Items to pick up may include:

  • Locker materials
  • Gym locker materials
  • Yearbook
  • Medications
In addition to Chromebooks and chargers, Items for drop off may include:

  • Library books
  • Textbooks
  • Calculators (or other district-owned classroom supplies)
  • Instruments that belong to WASD
All district-provided devices must be returned with charging cord, fully charged and turned on for inspection. 

Any items owned by the district and not returned will be billed to the parent or guardian.

Williamsport Area High School (Grades 9-12)

WAHS has assigned the following dates and times by group for drop-off and pickup during the week of June 8 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Monday, June 8: 9th Grade 
  • Tuesday, June 9: 10th Grade
  • Wednesday, June 10: 11th Grade
  • Thursday, June 11 (8-10 a.m. only): Anyone who was unable to drop off or pick up materials during their assigned date and time. 
In addition to Chromebooks and chargers, Items for drop off may include:

  • Library books
  • Textbooks
  • Calculators (or other district-owned classroom supplies)
  • Uniforms
  • Instruments that belong to WASD
All district-provided devices must be returned with charging cord, fully charged and turned on for inspection. 

Any items owned by the district and not returned will be billed to the parent or guardian.
