Wildcats golf team achieves third straight UE Championship

The Wildcats golf team concluded their 2024-25 season with significant achievements under the leadership of Coach Rob Lytle, who is in his third season. The team secured its third consecutive UE Championship, with seniors Peyton Mussina and Will Orwig tying for third place individually. Mussina has had a remarkable career, securing first place nine times, second six times, third four times, and fourth twice.

Coach Lytle was honored as the UE Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year. At the NCAA Division III nationals, the Wildcats finished 41st overall, while Mussina tied for 49th out of 225 participants.

In terms of postseason honors, several players received recognition. Peyton Mussina from Montoursville, Will Orwig from Mifflintown, and Gunner Redmond from Lock Haven were named to the UE first team. Brady Handy from Huntingdon and Logan Gawlinski from Kittanning made it to the UE third team. Additionally, Gawlinski was included in the UE All-Sportsmanship Team.

Mussina also received several individual accolades. He was awarded the UE Elite 20 Academic Award and was named to both the PING Division III All-Region 3 Team and PING Division III All-America Honorable Mention.
