Penn College senior Walt Heiser has been recognized as a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). This accolade was announced on Tuesday and places Heiser among NCAA Division III’s top student-athletes. Additionally, the Penn College Wildcats received the Team Academic Award from USILA.
To qualify for the Scholar All-America honor, student-athletes must be seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Athletically, they need to have achieved All-America status, participated in a North/South team, or been an all-conference player. The nominations are carefully reviewed by the Scholar All-American committee.
Heiser ended his athletic career with a selection to the United East first team, contributing to the Wildcats’ runner-up finish. Academically, he earned multiple accolades including the United East Elite 20 honor, selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team, and Penn College’s Male Scholar-Athlete award.
The USILA Team Academic Award is given to men’s lacrosse programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III that maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for the Spring semester of 2025. Penn College secured this recognition once again after achieving it in both 2022 and 2024 with a GPA of 3.3.
