More than $600,000 has been allocated to enhance outdoor recreation in Schuylkill County. This announcement was made by Sen. Dave Argall and Rep. Tim Twardzik, who collaborated with local leaders to obtain the funding.

Sen. Argall expressed gratitude for the grant, stating, "I’m very grateful that these dollars–this highly competitive funding–will improve opportunities for my constituents to enjoy the natural beauty of our area."

Rep. Twardzik highlighted the significance of these investments: "Investments like these in our parks and recreational spaces bring valuable improvements to our communities," he said. "By expanding and enhancing public spaces, we’re fostering safe, welcoming areas where residents of all ages can come together, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors. These fantastic projects will make our neighborhoods more inviting and welcoming, sparking more community pride."

The funding comes from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which aims to support projects focused on improving parks, recreation, and conservation throughout Pennsylvania.
