Competing in cross-country at the Hood College Open Invitational, the Penn College men's team finished 12th with a total of 291 points. Alec Rees led the Wildcats by placing 49th individually.
Rees completed the 8K course with a time of 31:04.1. He was followed by teammates Dean Fulton, who finished 70th in 32:16.9; Noah Bowers, who came in 92nd at 34:01.7; Nick Snow, who placed 109th in 35:11.3; and Will Deem, who secured the 118th position with a time of 36:21.2. AJ Wiles also represented Penn College, finishing in 137th place with a time of 39:23.9.
In the women's race, although Penn College did not field a full team for the 5K event, individual runners participated. Cinnamon Digan finished in 66th place with a time of 26:02.5, Avery Baker took the 76th spot at 26:46.1, and Taylor Schon was close behind in 77th place at 26:48.5.
Mary Washington topped the men's competition among the participating teams, scoring a total of 66 points. David Butts from Hagerstown Community College emerged as the leading individual among the field of participants with a time of 26:12.6.
On the women's side, Franklin & Marshall led their category with an impressive score of just 32 points and had Alexis Salerno as their top performer finishing first individually with a time of 19:58.8.
Looking ahead, Penn College is set to compete next on Saturday, October 30th at the United East Conference Championship in Lancaster.
