State Senator Gene Yaw and State Representative Tina Pickett have announced that three schools in Bradford County will receive $1.65 million in state funding for infrastructure improvements. The funds were approved during the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) Board meeting under the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program (PSFIG).

Senator Yaw emphasized the importance of updating school infrastructure, noting, "It is critical that we support efforts to improve aging infrastructure in many of our local schools, some of which haven’t seen significant upgrades in decades." He expressed gratitude to Representative Pickett for her collaboration in securing the funding.

Representative Pickett highlighted the necessity of renovations for older school buildings, stating, "This state funding will assist school districts in that regard and will also make the buildings safer and more efficient while alleviating some of the burden on local property taxpayers."

The PSFIG program offers grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects. It is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development under CFA's direction.
