Penn College women’s tennis team falls to Kean University

David Straub Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach | Penn College Wildcats

Penn College's women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss in a nonconference home match against Kean University on Friday night. This was the first encounter between the two teams, with Penn College now holding a record of 0-3 and Kean at 1-0.

Kean secured its victory by winning four of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches.

Victorious for the Wildcats were Ellen Buckley at No. 1 singles with scores of 6-3, 3-6, 9-7, and Kayla Weinzierl at No. 3 singles with scores of 6-2, 7-5. The lone doubles win for Penn College came from the pair Buckley and Emilyn Kinley who posted a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

Next on the schedule, Penn College's men's team will play against King's College at noon on Sunday, while the women's team is set to face Penn State Altoona at 4 p.m. on Friday.
