Women’s Cross Country Ranked No. 5 in the Atlantic Region

The Lock Haven women's cross country team is set to open the 2022 season on Friday, Sept. 2 by hosting the Dolan Duals, an annual dual meet vs. Division I Penn State.

Lock Haven will enter the season ranked No. 5 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Division II Atlantic Region preseason rankings. On the women's side, four of the top-five teams in the Atlantic Region preseason rankings are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

Last season, the Bald Eagles finished fifth out of 22 teams at the Atlantic Region championship meet. Elaina Klinger is Lock Haven's top returner from last season's regional championship meet. She was 30th out of 160 finishers.

Friday's meet on the West Branch Cross Country Course, located at the Stern Athletic Complex, is set for a 6 p.m. start and the runners will cover a distance of 4,000 meters. The Penn State women's team is ranked No. 3 in the preseason Division I Mid-Atlantic Region rankings.
