PSAC Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – 3

Track

Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on Jan. 18.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s indoor track & field athletes of the week Tuesday. On the men’s side, Gage Krall of Lock Haven and AJ Virata of Slippery Rock were picked, while on the women’s side, Cadie Kiser of Lock Haven and Darian Hauf of Millersville were selected.

Gage Krall

Sophomore

Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon

Gage Krall hit the starting line with the goal of hitting a PSAC mark the 5Km race. Krall grabbed on to a fast pace and didn’t let go as he would pull away from the field during the closing laps and would finish with a first-place finish and a time of 15:44.5. His time also ranks tops in the conference so far this season.

Field Athlete of the Week

Slippery Rock

AJ Virata

Freshman

York, Pa. / Red Lion

Virata competed in both track and field events at the Al Hall Freedom Games in Edinboro last week. Virata won the high jump at the event hitting a PSAC qualifying mark. He also was third in the 200m and 60m and now has the fifth-best high jump clearance in the PSAC (1.90m).

Lock Haven

Cadie Kiser

Senior

Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg

Cadie Kiser ran a stellar race Saturday evening as she controlled the race from the start of the gun. Kiser tucked herself in behind two runners as she waited to make her move. With four laps remaining, Kiser serge passed two runners and went on to win the race with a time of 18:39.36. This time would help her go own to qualify for PSAC championships.

Field Athlete of the Week

Millersville

Darian Hauf

Freshman

Pylesville, Md. / North Harford

Freshman Darian Hauf broke her own program record in the pole vault with a height of 12-6. She set the program record last month in her collegiate debut as she hit 12-1 ¼ Both of Hauf's marks are good for an NCAA Provisional Qualifier.
