Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 6.

The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (3-5-1, 1-5-1 PSAC East) looked poised for an upset today on the road, but were edged out, 2-1, by No. 3 Kutztown University (10-0, 8-0 PSAC East) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern division action.

Kutztown went ahead early in the first half, 1-0. The score stood until the 60th minute when Sydney Stahl (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks) took an assist from Evelyn Ciaccia (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) and delivered it past the KU goalie to tie the game at 1-1.

In the 68th minute, Kutztown scored the go-ahead goal and held on to come away with the 2-1 win.

The upset-minded Bald Eagles looked to make their chances pay, putting seven shots-on-goal throughout the contest, but were unable to find a second goal.

Goalkeeper Kylie Auman (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) made six saves in the effort
