Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.

ETHAN WALKER ON THE ENSHRINEMENT STAGE AT THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION.

On Aug. 5, Lock Haven University Sport Management student Ethan Walker worked the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in Canton, Ohio.

Walker, who worked the Hall of Fame event with Quint Events, is a sophomore and vice president of the Sport Management Club at LHU.

Walker specialized in client services and customer relations assisting with questions and providing clients with their pre-ordered tickets.

“There was so much going on due to there being two Hall of Fame classes this year, so I bounced around a lot and had to be flexible,” he said

Walker also helped escort clients who needed mobility assistance around the campus and aided with end of the night transportation. He gained further experience at fan parties and the enshrinement stage by providing crowd control.

“Quint Events and their staff that took the trip to Canton made the experience amazing,” Walker said. “It was a lot of hard work and long days, but it was all worth it in the end. The connections I made with the staff are ones I hope to keep for a long time and would encourage anyone who is given the opportunity to work with this company to do so. They really made this experience the best one I’ve ever had.”

Walker’s favorite part of working at the Hall of Fame induction was seeing the finished product. “Working in this field, we see all of the hard work behind the scenes that not many others do,” He said. “In most cases, people don’t question what it took for an event to turn out the way it did. That’s why I enjoyed seeing all of the events. Knowing how much work was put into something like this and seeing the clients leave happy, it just felt great to give them an amazing experience.”

The Sport Studies Department at LHU provides its students with the opportunity to gain experience in their professional careers before they graduate. In addition to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, students have worked at hallmark events such as the NCAA Championships, MLB Little League Classic, NFL Draft, College Football National Championship and the Super Bowl, among others.
