Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. has been awarded state funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) amounting to $4.3 million. This funding is allocated for the installation of a new water treatment system in White Haven. The announcement was made by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) and Rep. Jamie Walsh (R-117). The project aims to replace the existing well pump and introduce new treatment systems to reduce the levels of PFOA and PFOS chemicals at the well facility in White Haven.

Rep. Jamie Walsh commented on the significance of the funding: “Securing this PENNVEST funding is a critical step in ensuring clean and safe drinking water for White Haven residents. This state investment will not only improve the local water system but also protect the community’s health and well-being for generations to come.”

Sen. Dave Argall highlighted the importance of the funding for smaller communities: “This highly competitive funding will ensure White Haven residents have access to clean water. These projects can be very expensive for smaller communities, and I’m grateful that PENNVEST recognizes how important supporting this work is.”

The $4.3 million funding comprises a grant of $2,815,505 and a low-interest loan of $1,484,495. PENNVEST routinely funds sewer, storm water, and drinking water projects across Pennsylvania.
