Rep. Jamie Flick from Lycoming and Union counties has been appointed as the Republican secretary of the House Children and Youth Committee by Committee Chair Kate Klunk. The committee is responsible for addressing key issues affecting Pennsylvania’s children, including maternal health, juvenile justice, and child protection. It will also conduct hearings on these topics statewide.
Flick is recognized for his work advocating for youth through various roles and initiatives. His background includes being a court-appointed special advocate, a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor, a youth sports coach, a host for foreign exchange students, and assisting with the Fresh Air Fund.
Flick expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, “I am grateful to be named to this wonderful position,” and emphasized the shared commitment to bipartisan collaboration to enhance the future for children.
Chairwoman Klunk highlighted Flick’s extensive experience, stating, “Jamie has a diverse and longstanding history of working for children in Pennsylvania.
