Penn College women’s volleyball sweeps Rosemont to close regular season

Penn College concluded its regular season in women’s volleyball with a 3-0 win over Rosemont in a United East Conference match on Saturday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats improved their conference record to 3-7 and overall record to 6-21. Rosemont ended its season without a win, finishing 0-18 overall and 0-11 in the conference.

The Wildcats secured set victories of 25-14, 25-6, and 25-6. In the first set, Mya Gilliam and Lilly Stockum closed out the frame with consecutive kills. During the second set, Stockum delivered seven straight aces before a Rosemont error ended the set.

In the third set, Penn College started strong with Taryn Smith contributing two aces and capitalizing on two errors by Rosemont. Caitlyn Archie finished the match by serving four consecutive aces.

Mya Gillium led Penn College offensively with seven kills. Stockum contributed six kills and had a team-high nine aces. Kendall Shade added four kills while Kylie Kline recorded five digs during her Senior Day appearance.

The Wildcats achieved a season-best hitting percentage of .364, recording 22 kills and 31 aces while holding Rosemont to just three kills.

Penn College now awaits confirmation of a possible postseason berth, with the first round scheduled for Wednesday, November 5.
