Penn College women’s volleyball falls in two matches at Altoona Tri-Meet

Penn College’s women’s volleyball team lost both matches at the Altoona Tri-Meet on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Penn State Altoona and Washington & Jefferson in nonconference play. The Wildcats’ record dropped to 1-6 for the season. Penn State Altoona improved to 1-4, while Washington & Jefferson moved to 4-2.

In the match against Penn State Altoona, set scores were 25-11, 25-17, and 25-14 in favor of the Lions. Lilly Stockum led Penn College with six kills and Haylie Thomsen added five kills. Nashalie Vializ recorded 16 digs on defense, with Thomsen contributing an additional 10 digs.

Facing Washington & Jefferson, Stockum again led the Wildcats offensively with nine kills. Ellen Banfill provided 11 assists as the team totaled 18 kills in the match.

The Wildcats will return home to host Elmira on Wednesday, September 10 at 6 p.m.
