Penn College defeated Saint Elizabeth 8-3 in a United East baseball match on Wednesday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This victory pushed the Wildcats’ standings to 8-3 in the UE and 15-13 overall, whereas the Eagles’ record shifted to 5-6 in the UE and 13-17 overall.

The game began with Penn College taking an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, highlighted by Jaydon Goebel’s RBI single and subsequent scoring on a passed ball. Saint Elizabeth equalized in the third inning, but the Wildcats went ahead again in the fourth, thanks to Shawn Townsend’s sacrifice and Matt Munoz’s triple. The Wildcats secured their win with a strong sixth inning, gaining momentum through singles by Munoz and John Croasdale, a balk, and Nathan Gutskey’s sacrifice.

Key players for Penn College included Gutskey, Levi Purnell, Munoz, and Croasdale, each recording two hits. Wyatt Hershey achieved the win after pitching one inning without conceding any runs, hits, and added two strikeouts to his performance.

Looking ahead, Penn College will face off against Immaculata on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
