Penn College’s tennis teams faced defeat in United East play against Penn State Abington, with the men’s team losing 5-2 and the women’s team falling 6-1 on Sunday. The current standings for Penn College’s men’s team are 1-3 in the United East and 2-8 overall, while Abington’s men’s record is 3-1 in the United East and 9-1 overall. Meanwhile, the women’s teams have Penn College at 2-3 in the United East and 2-10 overall, with Abington at 3-2 in the United East and 6-5 overall.

In the men’s matches, Abington secured victories in five singles matches, whereas Penn College won two out of three doubles matches. Alex Norris clinched a win for the Wildcats at No. 3 singles with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 scoreline. Doubles teams Kyle Shuler and Logan Ogden, as well as Seth Priestman and Matt Williams, delivered wins at No. 2 and No. 3, registering scores of 6-1 and 6-2, respectively.

The women’s team saw Abington winning five singles events and all three doubles. Faith Murray earned the sole victory for Penn College at No. 2 singles, finishing at 6-2, 6-0.

Penn College’s next encounter in the United East will be against Cairn University on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
