Penn College tennis teams faced Penn State Berks in United East competition, resulting in a split outcome. The women’s team from Penn College emerged victorious with a score of 5-2, while the men’s team was defeated, also by a 5-2 margin. Following these matches, the Penn College women stand at 2-6 overall and 2-0 in the United East, while the men are 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Conversely, Penn State Berks’ women are now 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference, with their men’s team having a 5-2 overall record and an undefeated record of 2-0 in the United East.

For the women’s team, Penn College secured victories in four singles matches and all three doubles matches. Notably, Ellen Buckley triumphed at No. 1 with a score of 6-2, 6-3; Lauren Peck dominated at No. 2 with scores of 6-0, 6-0; Faith Murray won at No. 3 with 6-0, 6-1; and Eliza Welshans claimed her match at No. 4 by forfeit. In doubles, the team of Buckley and Peck won at No. 1 with 6-4. Murray, partnered with Kayla Weinzierl, succeeded at No. 3 with a 7-5 score, while the pair of Cierra Miller and Welshans benefited from a forfeit at No. 3.

The men’s team from Penn College managed to secure victories in two singles matches, adding one win in doubles. Hunter Knosky posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles, while Valentino Barillaro emerged victorious by forfeit at No. 6 singles. The doubles team of Knosky and Barillaro also won by forfeit at No. 3.

Looking ahead, Penn College is set to host Penn State Brandywine at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
