Penn College’s tennis teams faced off against Penn State Brandywine in United East action on Tuesday. The men’s team secured a 7-0 victory, while the women’s team experienced a 3-2 loss.

For the men’s team, the matchup resulted in a complete sweep across all six singles matches and three doubles matches. Four of the singles matches and two of the doubles contests were actively played. Alex Norris, John Finnegan, Logan Ogden, and Seth Priestman secured wins in their respective singles games. Hunter Knosky and Matt Williams claimed victories by forfeit in singles spots No. 5 and No. 6. In doubles, Norris-Finnegan defeated their opponents 6-1, Knosky-Williams won 6-2, and Ogden-Priestman were awarded a win by forfeit.

On the women’s side, Penn College won two out of the four singles matches but faltered in both doubles matches. Kayla Weinzierl won her singles match 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, and Eliza Welshans secured a victory at No. 4 with scores of 6-2, 6-4.

The current standings leave Penn College’s men’s team with a 2-6 overall record and a 1-1 conference record. The Penn State Brandywine men’s team remains winless at 0-8 overall and 0-3 in United East play. The women’s team from Penn College holds a 2-7 overall record with a conference standing of 2-1, while Brandywine’s women’s team records are 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Next on the schedule, the Penn College women will play against Lock Haven University in a nonconference match on Wednesday, starting at 1:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the men’s team is set to visit Penn State Abington on Saturday for their next conference match at 1 p.m.
