Penn College’s men’s lacrosse team secured their first win of the season with a decisive 19-4 victory over Juniata in a nonconference match on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats improved their record to 1-2, while the Eagles fell to 0-3.

The game began with Penn College scoring the first seven goals. Owen Kupsey added another goal, bringing the score to 8-1 just before halftime. Gage Mcclune achieved a hat-trick in the first half, with contributions from Will Ehret, Aidan McFalls, Levi Borkowski, and AJ Dotson.

In the third quarter, Harrison Schlachta scored a man-up goal that initiated an eight-goal run for Penn College. Both Ehret and Dotson completed their hat-tricks during this period, while Jake Small, Jesse Weick, and Leighton Acevedo also found the net.

The Wildcats continued their offensive push in the fourth quarter with Tyler Diffenderfer scoring twice and John Dolezeal adding one more goal near the end of regulation time.

Throughout the game, Penn College managed 57 shots with 39 on target compared to Juniata’s 35 shots (19 on target). Ryan Twist made eight saves in his time on field contributing significantly to securing the win. Alex Hammond and Fisher Makuch provided additional support by combining for seven saves.

Defensively, Connor Gentile led with four caused turnovers. Kupsey contributed three caused turnovers while CJ Jones and Acevedo each had two.

Looking ahead, Penn College is set to play against Misericordia at UPMC Field on Saturday at 1 p.m.
