Penn College concluded its men’s soccer season with a 3-0 loss to Penn State Harrisburg in the United East Men’s Soccer Championship held Saturday in Middletown, Pennsylvania. This match marked the Wildcats’ first appearance in the United East finals, ending their season with an overall record of 11 wins, 7 losses, and 2 draws.
The game began with Penn State Harrisburg taking an early lead after a penalty kick was awarded following a foul inside the box in the sixth minute. The Wildcats came close to leveling the score late in the first half when Robert Antonini’s shot was cleared off the line by a Harrisburg defender.
Goalkeeper Justin Crismale made a save in the 68th minute, but Harrisburg extended its advantage with goals in the 75th and 79th minutes.
Statistically, Harrisburg outshot Penn College by a margin of 13 to 5, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal. The Wildcats led slightly in corner kicks, earning five compared to four for Harrisburg. Crismale recorded five saves during the match.
Penn College’s appearance in the championship final represents a milestone for its men’s soccer program.
