Penn College’s men’s golf team achieved a fourth-place finish among ten teams in the Gettysburg Spring Shootout held at the Penn National Golf Club. Peyton Mussina led the team by securing seventh place in a field of 54 players.

The Wildcats held the fifth position after the first round with a score of 308. They improved slightly in the second round, shooting a 306, which brought their total score to 614.

Individually, Mussina recorded consistent rounds of 73, leading to a personal total of 146. Gunner Redmond and Will Orwig both finished with scores of 154, tying for 18th place. Brady Handy tied for 36th with a score of 160, while Logan Gawlinski ended up in 45th place with a score of 166. The team’s score was derived from the lowest four individual scores.

Host team Gettysburg took first place with a total score of 592. Franklin and Marshall followed with 594, and York College secured third with 597. Alongside Penn College, Dickinson and Swarthmore both had scores of 615. Other teams included Gettysburg “B”, Stevens Institute, SUNY Delhi, and Juniata College.

Dickinson’s Colin McMahon-Shea won the individual medal with scores of 66 and 74, totaling 140.

Looking ahead, Penn College is set to defend its title at the United East Championship, scheduled at Chambersburg Country Club.
