Penn College’s women’s volleyball team was defeated in straight sets by Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday during a United East conference match at Bardo Gymnasium. The Wildcats’ record dropped to 2-7 in the United East and 5-21 overall, while Penn State Harrisburg improved to 8-1 in the conference and 17-5 overall.
The first set was closely contested but ended with Harrisburg winning 25-22. Harrisburg then took control of the match, securing the second set 25-9 and finishing with a 25-13 victory in the third set.
Haylie Thomsen led Penn College offensively with four kills. Sara Seyfert and Lilly Stockum each added three kills. Ellen Banfill contributed with 10 assists, and Nashalie Vializ recorded 11 digs. Kendall Shade and Sara Seyfert both registered two blocks.
Penn College will conclude its regular season at home against Rosemont on Saturday at 1 p.m.
