Penn College falls to Penn State Abington in United East men’s soccer

Penn College was defeated 2-0 by Penn State Abington in a United East men’s soccer match on Thursday in Abington, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats now have a conference record of 2-1-2 and an overall record of 7-5-2, while the Nittany Lions improved their standings to 3-1 in the conference and 4-6 overall.

The match remained scoreless during the first half. Penn State Abington broke the deadlock with a goal in the 51st minute and added another in the 75th minute. Penn College had two shots on target during the second half, one by Sean McGroarty in the 68th minute and another by Hunter Gabloff, but both were saved.

Abington led with a total of 15 shots compared to Penn College’s five, including nine shots on goal versus three for the Wildcats. The Nittany Lions also had more corner kicks, holding a 5-2 advantage. Justin Crismale made seven saves as goalkeeper for Penn College.

Penn College is scheduled to play its next game against Gallaudet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
