Five student-athletes from Pennsylvania College of Technology have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Division III At-Large Team. The announcement was made on Tuesday. The honored athletes include seniors Peyton Mussina, Noah Hunt, and Walt Heiser, along with sophomores Travis Green and Nick Woodruff.
The CSC Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams are selected to recognize top student-athletes for their achievements both in competition and academics. To qualify, athletes must maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and meet specific playing time requirements for their sport. This at-large program includes sports without their own dedicated Academic All-America program.
Peyton Mussina from Montoursville, Pa., completed his senior season with several accolades: a second PING/GCAA Division III all-region selection, his third United East first team appearance, making the cut at the NCAA Division III Championships for two consecutive seasons after leading Penn College to its third-straight conference championship, and being named the United East Elite 20 honoree. Mussina is also a nominee for the CSC Academic All-America Team set to be announced in July.
Noah Hunt from Muncy, Pa., ended his career by participating in the NCAA Division III Championships as only the second Wildcat to reach this level. He claimed an AMCC title at 141 pounds and became the first Wildcat to achieve over 100 wins while being a four-time region place-finisher.
Walt Heiser from Milford, N.J., concluded his career with a United East first team selection after contributing to the Wildcats’ runner-up finish and receiving the conference’s Elite 20 honor.
Nick Woodruff from Wyalusing, Pa., secured a sixth-place finish in the Region 2 Championships and won his first conference title by clinching the AMCC 197-pound bracket.
Travis Green from Manchester, Md., won the AMCC 174-pound title and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
