The University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team is gearing up for the final stretch of its 2024-25 season. The Quakers will play three road games, beginning with matchups against Cornell and Columbia this weekend. They will face Cornell on Friday in Ithaca, New York, followed by a game against Columbia on Saturday in New York City.

Penn’s game against Cornell marks their 242nd meeting, with Penn leading the series 162-79. In their last encounter at The Palestra, Cornell emerged victorious with an 86-76 win. Ethan Roberts led Penn with 26 points during that game. Against Columbia, Penn leads the series 150-94 after winning their previous matchup this year, where Sam Brown scored a career-high 30 points.

The Quakers have historically had mixed results during their Empire State trips, sweeping it 25 times but being swept themselves on ten occasions. This year’s trip is significant as it marks the first time since the 1958-59 season that Penn did not complete this trip last year.

“Quakers head coach Steve Donahue—who, of course, coached ten years at Cornell and was current Big Red coach Jon Jaques’ college coach—is 5-3 at both Cornell and Columbia since taking over as Penn’s head coach.”

Fans can follow the games via ESPN+ or listen through the Quaker Audio Network with Matt Leon and Mike Mahoney providing commentary.
