More than $110,000 has been allocated to a recreation project in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, according to an announcement from State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) and State Representative Jamie Flick (R-83). The funding comes through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).
The grant will be used for upgrades at James Short Park. Planned improvements include building an amphitheater and pedestrian walkway, installing lighting and utilities, ensuring ADA access, landscaping, a project sign, and other site enhancements.
“Investing in our local parks and recreation facilities enhances quality of life and strengthens our communities,” said Yaw. “These improvements will provide families and residents with safe, modern spaces to enjoy for years to come and I’m thankful to Rep. Flick for working with me to secure this funding.”
“I’m excited to see the upgrades to the James Short Park,” Flick said. “Loyalsock Township residents should benefit from creating more outdoor recreational opportunities like the added amphitheater and other added improvements. It was a pleasure to work with Sen. Yaw in securing this grant.”
