Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) announced that the Mifflinburg Police Department has received $146,000 in state funding. The funds will be used to purchase body worn cameras and automated license plate readers for the department.
Yaw joined members of the police department to mark the occasion. He stated, “Protecting our communities means making sure our local police have the tools and resources they need to do their jobs safely and efficiently. I’m pleased to have secured this funding for Mifflinburg P.D. and I’m proud to support their ongoing efforts to keep the borough and surrounding communities safe.”
The new equipment is intended to help modernize law enforcement operations in Mifflinburg. According to officials, these technologies are expected to improve officer safety and enhance response capabilities during criminal incidents.
Chief Jeffrey Hackenburg commented on the impact of the funding: “This investment has given us valuable tools we use daily to serve our community more effectively, while also enhancing the safety of our officers. We’re incredibly grateful to Sen. Yaw for securing this funding and for his continued support of local law enforcement.”
