The men’s cross country team celebrated a successful season by securing their second consecutive UE championship. Under the guidance of Coach Tom Leeser, in his third season, the team achieved notable accomplishments. A record nine men received all-conference honors, and Leeser was named UE Coach of the Year for the second time.
This back-to-back victory marked the first time since 2011-12 that the men’s team clinched consecutive titles, ending a decade-long gap. During this period, seven athletes recorded personal bests in both season and career times.
On the women’s side, the team achieved their highest finish since 2018 by placing fourth in the UE Championship.
In postseason recognitions, several athletes were honored. Alec Rees from Centerport, New York; Mitchell Campbell from Riegelsville; Ethan Knapp from Franklin; and Matthew Woolcock from Oil City made it to the UE first-team men. The second-team included Aaron Guerrisky from South Williamsport, Holden Furey from Williamsport, and Chase Ebeling from Bellefonte. Jacob Parker from Weatherly and Noah Bowers from Mifflin County were named to the third-team men with Bowers also earning a spot on the UE All-Sportsmanship Team.
For women’s accolades, Elaina Brady from McConnellsburg was selected for the UE first-team women while Isabella Kerlin from Pottstown, Karleigh Hunter from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Lillian DePew from Muncy made it to the third-team women. Brady also earned recognition on the UE All-Sportsmanship Team.
Alec Rees received additional recognition with the Men’s UE Elite 20 Academic Award while Kayleigh Miller of Sayre was awarded for Women’s Elite 20 Academic excellence.
Coach Leeser’s leadership continues to be recognized as he was again honored as Men’s UE Coach of the Year.
