“Safety is a top priority of mine, and this money goes a long way to protecting the well-being of residents,” said Rep. Flick. He expressed gratitude for collaborating with Sen. Yaw to advocate for these projects and secure the necessary funding. Sen. Yaw also emphasized the importance of infrastructure in ensuring public safety and mobility, stating, “Maintaining and improving our roads, bridges and walkways is an essential component of ensuring the safety and mobility of the commuters and pedestrians who travel them each day.”
The grant details include $416,000 to the Loyalsock Township Board of Supervisors for engineering work on a pedestrian bridge, $390,236 to South Williamsport Development, LLC for a traffic signal installation supporting a forthcoming Wawa gas station, and $200,000 to the City of Williamsport for a transportation project along West Third Street and Elmira Street.
