Penn College senior Lauren Peck was named United East Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the final weekly award of the season, according to an announcement on Apr. 21. This is Peck’s first weekly honor and only the second time a Penn College Wildcats player has received such recognition this season.
The award highlights Peck’s performance in extending her singles winning streak to seven matches during the last week of regular play. She achieved three victories, contributing to Penn College Wildcats securing the No. 3 seed in the United East Conference playoffs. Her wins included a 6-2, 6-3 result at No. 2 singles against Lancaster Bible, as well as two tiebreak victories: one at No. 1 singles versus Penn State Altoona (0-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-5]) and another at No. 2 singles against Cairn (6-3, 3-6, 6-1).
Penn College Wildcats competes in intercollegiate athletics as part of NCAA Division III and is affiliated with Pennsylvania College of Technology according to its official website. The team participates in the United East Conference and hosts its home matches at Central PA Tennis Center in Williamsport, Pennsylvania according to information from the college.
Peck’s achievement reflects both her individual progress throughout her senior year and contributes to a strong finish for her team ahead of postseason competition.
