Rep. Jamie Flick has delivered a statement in response to an arson incident at the governor’s residence in Harrisburg. In the early hours of the morning, Governor Josh Shapiro and his family were safely evacuated by state police after the fire caused a “significant amount of damage.” The Harrisburg firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze.

Flick expressed his shock at the news, stating, “I was shocked to learn of the arson attack on the governor’s residence in Harrisburg overnight.” He went on to emphasize his feelings regarding the incident: “Hearing of Gov. Shapiro and his family’s safety, my next thought was anger over such recklessness, disregard and disrespect. There is no room for hatred like this, driving whoever is responsible for this attack to put the lives of the Shapiro family and the first responders at such risk.” Additionally, he extended “condolences to the governor and his family and gratitude for the quick response to contain the fire.”

Flick represents the 83rd Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
